Day Camp

At Amicus Day Camps, every camper finds their place to shine. Whether your child is passionate about sports, art, horses, academics, or exploring the great outdoors, we’ve got a program to spark their excitement! Each camp is designed for children and teens entering grades 3–10 with ADHD and/or Learning Disabilities, offering a supportive space where they can make friends, build skills, and create unforgettable memories.

POLARIS

POLARIS is an outdoor adventure program that focuses on hiking, backpacking, and building independence. Teens will embark on multi-day hikes, camp under the stars, and face outdoor challenges that foster self-reliance, collaboration and resilience. Teens will navigate trails, set up camp, and develop leadership skills while building lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

Horsemanship

In this unique camp experience, campers spend their mornings at Lasting Strides Ranch learning horsemanship, riding, and horse care under the guidance of skilled instructors. Afternoons are spent back at Foothills Academy alongside the Day Camp program, enjoying traditional camp activities and reinforcing social skills. Through working with horses, campers build confidence, develop leadership, and forge a special bond with their equine partners.

Outdoor Adventure Camp

Outdoor Adventure Camp (OAC) invites youth in grades 7–9 to discover the wonders of the outdoors through thrilling wilderness activities and sports. Mornings focus on mastering essential wilderness skills such as tent setup, fire building, and map reading. Afternoons bring these skills to life with adventures in Calgary and the nearby mountains, including hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, and more.

Counsellor in Training

The CIT program bridges the gap between camper and counsellor, helping youth with ADHD and/or learning disabilities develop leadership and workplace readiness skills. Over three weeks, participants shadow counsellors, lead activities, and gain hands-on experience in camp facilitation, safety, and building connections. With training and feedback, CITs will learn valuable skills for success at Camp Amicus and beyond.
